Lindsey Abernathy

Lindsey is an enrolled member of the Wiyot Tribe, which is centered in what is now Humboldt County, California. She is a first-year master’s student in Native American Studies at UC Davis, having completed a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science from California State University Sacramento.

Her passion and current research interests include Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK), restoration ecology, and environmental stewardship. More specifically the role in which TEK plays within the ecocultural restoration of culturally significant plants of the Wiyot Tribe.
